The Pattern Day Trading (PTD) Rule applies at TD Ameritrade. According to FINRA rules, you are a day trader if you execute at least four day trades within five business days. Pattern Day Traders have to maintain a minimum account balance of $25,000 in their margin accounts. This allows them to engage in unlimited day trading.
Transfer all of your funds to the thinkorswim margin account, and use up the 3 day trades on this account. You can't use margin to trade options so don't worry about interest or anything like that. Once you've used up your 3 day trades, use the instant transfer feature to transfer all of your funds from margin account to your cash account.Step 4: Send the order.
