Some older ones produce around 3.00 to 5.25 horsepower. But the newer ones are stronger, going up to 6.75 horsepower. These newer ones also use fuel better.

I like the Vanguard 810 efi better because it has Delphi fuel injection. Its super reliable. With proper fueling the Vanguard runs cooler and will in turn last longer.

The Winner Between Kohler VS Kawasaki. It was hard to pick a clear winner, we do feel that Kawasaki is better all around when compared to Kohler. While Kohler does have better customer service and is less expensive than Kawasaki mower engines, they simply donāt beat Kawasakiās power and reliability. Our current ~7-8 year old ISX3200 Ferris 37 hp with Vanguard and 450 hrs has been bullet proof. Not a commercial lawn care business, but used on our farm and commercial properties. Need another. The last I know of for sure was on some Cub 2000 series LT/GTs made up until 2004. To the OP, if the Kawi we're talking about is installed on a ~$2000 lawn tractor, I'd keep the $200 and go with the Briggs.The Cheetah feels like it has better traction due to better weight distribution. The Cheetah has a better discharge as far as fanning things out better, but the Deere seems to cut really wet grass cleaner in one pass. The Cheetah's deck stays cleaner in moist grass or wet conditions and it isn't just the new paint.
