The "MM Optimizer v16" spreadsheet (found on this forum) shows an After Tax Yield of: VMSXX: 3.77% VUSXX: 3.29% So that does look like it would net $4800 more over 6 months, but with some additional risk. The biggest thing is that Vanguard seems to run their funds a bit more conservatively, so their holdings all tend towards the same "safest" assets (Treasuries, USGO debt and Repos). That rate changes daily in response to interest rate moves on the open market. I'd suggest you read up on them on the Vanguard site and if you have questions come back and ask.
