JHP, FMJ - if the ammo is right (i.e., not reloads with a "Glock bulge") they shoot. Until I went to a Wilson EDC X9, the Vigil was my daily carry.

The Dan Wesson Valor is a really solid value buy at its price point. A better question to ask is Valor or Les Baer. Wilson guns don't compete with guns in the Valor/Les Baer class point for point, generally speaking. The Wilsons are significantly more refined - but you can't go wrong with a Valor.IMHO the levels are: Wilson > Blackhawk on the first tier. Ed Brown > Les Baer barely on a slightly lower second tier. The above opinion is my own, it is based on my own personal observations and prejudices. I haven't owned a 1911 in a decade, after running one exclusively for years in lessons and matches.
