It's really much faster to get to Foley by driving from Gulf Shores--Foley is only a 20 minute drive or so from GS.The ferry is used more for getting to Dauphin Island (or trying to skip going through the tunnel in Mobile when you are driving to Gulf Shores or trying to get to Ft.
