The A300 is designed from the ground up hard gunning. I like the handguard very much and wish Beretta would make one that's backwards compatible with the 1301. Fit and finish is excellent on both. I prefer the front sight on the A300 as it's more open than the 1301 which gives you a better sight picture.
As the 1301 became popular and widely accepted the price went up. Surprisingly the swing on the lighter and shorter M2 was SMOOTHER than the A300. Without the extra weight I was quickly able to swing through the shot. Controls - The A300 seemingly has easier controls. Bigger bolt handle, oversized bolt release, safety in-front of the trigger, and bolt lock in the mag well.
Biscut said: I like the 1301 (I own two) over the 300P. 300P is an excellent SD shotgun but the 1301 is a step above. I like the gas system on the 1301. Bolt is IMO stouter on the 1301 as well. Barrel is a higher end version as well IIRC. Where the 300P beats out the 1301 is the price tag.
