Did it this morning, and discovered that the valve adjustment-WASN'T!! Couldn't get a .002 feeler gauge in any of the four valves. The specs on this engine call for .004-.006, my feeler gauge set only had .005 so that's what I used. The engine suddenly became noisier, the unique solid lifter sound these briggs are noted for.26 HP V-twin Briggs and Stratton valve issue.
