Oct 30, 2014 · 2002 Prairie 300 4x4 - the starter button stopped working. I have systematically looked at the issue from the button itself down to the solenoid on to the starter and the battery. If you look at the module with the terminals pointing down, the two on the left go to the pickup coil (black and blue on my '86).
On mine it is green. Get a multimeter, set it to test continuity, and ground one probe. Put the other one on the neutral wire, and when the machine is in neutral it should have continuity with the engine block. If it doesn't the switch is stuck open.
