The frantz filter is a proven one and they do work well! One nice thing about them is you will never have to worry about running out of replacement elements for them. Oct 30, 2010 · Automatic control via the PCM and full manual lockup. This allows the computer to run the converter as normal, but also allows a full manual lockup in 3rd and 4th gears. The E40D had a history of locking and unlocking by itself for no apparent reason, and then not storing any codes in the PCM as to why. The 4x4 T-19 and ZF are the same length, so no driveshaft modifications. The clutch hydraulics are all the same. What you will need: 1) A ZF5 transmission. 2) A floor pan insert; you will need to cut a hole for the transfer case shift lever. 3) A ZF clutch kit and flywheel, with throwout bearing and clutch fork.Oilburners forum is the best place for IDI info. The injector you need is a matched set of whatever is new or has new nozzles put in them. Cheap pensacola-type rebuilds are not matched, and fail very quickly. The code doesn't really make any difference, but you want to replace them as a set.Earlier 7.3 IDI heads have coolant ports facing the intake (valley pan) gasket, which are simply dead-headed there by the gasket. Later model IDIs have plugs pressed into the heads here, so it won't leak even without the valley pan gasket. Not sure on what exact year/serial that they switched to plugging those holes.

Steering feels stiff and takes a bit more effort than normal and the steering wheel will not return to center/straight like it usually does. I've never dealt with these symptoms before and some internet reading suggests various things from seized front u-joints to steering column.
