10-18-2010, 02:27 AM. Hello all, Seeing how I recently got myself a new pc, I had to check out the latest pcsx2 version, and I finally have a pc that's good enough. So now I've been trying to get my dream working: my favorite ps2 game final fantasy X running full HD at 60 fps instead of the 50 which I've been stuck with since the game came out.
If it's on the +2 side,the requirements will be much higher when combined to 60fps patch. Currently pcsx2 lacks an internal framerate counter. (ppsspp, dolphin they have that) When you have a game which runs @30fps you have to do two things to get to a playable 60fps status. 1. Last I checked the best i could get to perfect emulation there were still vertical lines underwater, but the new half pixel offset option fixes it. Amazing job to the pcsx2 crew. No. High speed cameras capture video at, say, 1000fps then slow it down to 24/30/60, which is what makes the "slow motion" effect. It just has a frame for every 1/1000th of a second, so, for example, 1 minute of stuff happening becomes ~40m. Today I discovered that changing the EE Cycle Rate to -2 eliminates all dips and provides a perfect 60fps. Not only that, I can increase the internal resolution to 8x and it runs perfectly smooth with enough headroom to take it higher, although I dont see a need for a higher internal resolution. Find. The fact that you have a "60fps" patch is interesting, because I'm pretty sure the game is default at 60. MC3 is also pretty resource intensive, so your PC just might not be able to run it. So, yes it can be done on some games. Yes it takes different skills then writing an emulator (it takes some cheat engine or other memory debugger skills to track down all the values that are needed to be changes). Finally yes PCSX2 has quite a few 60 fps codes that need far more then just the FPS unlock code that is all that exists.
