As I said I don't use Tradovate, but basic data in CQG data in Ninjatrader is $12 a month, and it provides the main CME instruments, among many others. Either way, you are paying for market data. I suppose similar to the way that Samsung or Apple make phones, but the don't work without a carrier connection, which have separate contracts and fees.The mainstream data feeds are CQG and Rithmic. Some like Ninjatrader or Tradovate are based off of CQG. I haven’t used IB for futures before, but their reputation for data is pretty bad. They used to aggregate their data (unusable in scalping), and they still have API limits for third party platforms, and their fees and margins are shit.

Rithmic data can be a little less reliable though. I like to see the orders trading stocks, but I stopped looking at them for futures long ago. Eventually should thoroughly explore Bookmap at some point, but haven't had time yet.
