I have heard people buying Knock sensor sub harnesses for 97 Style Maxima's and tapping it the harness on the back side of the engine and putting that in and locating the knock sensor on the back of the cylinder head.
The knock sensor is located below the intake manifold in the valley of the motor. The harness runs to it over the back of the manifold. You will need to remove the intake plentium and the intake manifold to get to it. Along with any items attached to the manifold.
