Dec 20, 2023 · I have a ‘12 EX–L with RES, so power sliding door. I am having a hard time trying to find the sensor that lets the van know if the door is open. When I turn the vehicle on, all of the red indicators flash, so I know the light on the dash is working, but if all the doors are open, the dash shows the rear passenger door closed. Inside the fuel filler door is a spring loaded pin that pops the door open when the release lever is pulled in the driver’s compartment. This pin also detects when the fuel filler door is open, and consequently causes the left sliding door to stay locked so as not to damage the fuel door. I'm going to closely examine the left and right pinch sensor for damage when I get home from work (van's at home). But, if I see no obvious damage, it would seem useful to disconnect one or both pinch sensors to see if the door might then open / close -- i.e. try and see if this is the issue, and if it is the issue, determine which sensor is bad.
