Until 2020 when I bought my new enclosed trailer I towed with open flatbed 70-75mph on highway for 1.5 hrs each way to hunting grounds NEVER had a single problem with hard top. These are the switches I used to make it happen. 1) a keyed lock on off switch, key comes out either position. 2) a latching on off push button switch. Here is where I mounted them. Driver side.
