I just got back from sand mountain Nevada and was racing on drag hill, I got a 1988 trx250r with a ser 330 cylinder and a 4mil stroker. I was having a hard time trying to take off in 2nd gear and having to use 1st and noticed 4th would be still pulling by the top but seamed like it could be pulling better.I've had this together for a couple of years now. So glad I didn't listen to all the horror stories about these. 87 TRX250r with a 86 CR500 engine.
no, the whole basket with the gear on it, you grab the basket with 2 hands and wiggle it side to side. There will be a little bit of wiggle with it taken apart. Put the plates back in and torque everything up and check it again. My Walsh 250R has the CR500 swingarm linkage. My son's Walsh CRF hybrid has the 450 swingarm linkage. Both have Custom Axis rear shocks installed and when I sent them to Custom Axis for set up, there was a slight difference between the two linkage types when it came to shock lengths.
