I have destroyed a couple birds at 20 yards with them, and recovered one SP20 that broke and shuttlecocked with a lot of pellets in it. Not much left of that breast. I guess there are other 1 ounce wads out there but I am fine now with the 7/8 oz.When I moved up to a MEC 9000 reloader, the results still were not good, perhaps even worse. I tried increasing the wad pressure to 60 – 70 lbs but I was told by MEC that I should not do that. MEC recommended either Downrange wads or Remington RPX wads. I tried the Down Range wads and the Remington wads and I prefer the Remington wads.

Remington SP20 wad Pressure with 17.8 grains is 12000 psi so this is just under that. Velocity with 17.8 grains is 1220 fps so probably about 1200 fps. I really don't think you'll have an issue. The F1 wads are out-of-print, so I haven't used them. In 7/8 loads Rem wads with Win case and vice versa works the best. Like.However, in the BPI Advantages Manual, there is conflicting data like you describe with CB-1075-20 and WAA20 wads. Also, this is with Remington hulls and Vectan A1 or A0 powders.
