The inherent tone of the Katana Bass 210 kind of reminded me of the baked-in character of a Sansamp set fairly clean. The Boss was cleaner, obviously, but there was an inherent scoop to the sound with an emphasis on a full and punchy, yet somewhat undefined low bass frequency, and an upper treble grind.He mainly used Mesa, but some times used Ampeg. In the early tears (Spastik Children I guess) he used a Randall amp. The only Ampeg thing that I could find that he used was a cabinet. He used the Mesa 400 head, 4x12 cabinets, and a custom 1x15 cabinet. I can’t remember the name of that group though. So I would guess the “east coast” sound is the NYC sound, an Ampeg B15.

Initial thoughts: super comfy and slick neck, strange since it's fixed and the (very cool) uniform color flows across the whole instrument- thus the neck is painted and paint-smooth accordingly. Sounds like a P bass but bit more focused (exactly like how JMJ described it). The bass came with a good quality padded Fender gig bag and not some cheap thin garbage lol. there is a separate manual for the b1 four that has all the effects listed by category. there are a number of effects that can only be accessed and loaded into the b1 four by attaching it to a computer with the guitar lab software. the hpf or lpf are some of them.
